“Adorn the Day”

A Copper Hat Collection by Erin Stelmaschuk Biegel

OPENING RECEPTION

July 17th 5-8pm

Join us for an evening of Appetizers & Refreshments

Erin has been working with Copper for over 25 years!

This departure to creating on western hats a few years ago has let her stretch her vision and affect the medium of copper without completely changing . All the while making a demand on her capacity and expecting more of her studio practice.

The copper adorned hats are often twofold, purely sculptural works of art and also wearable creations.

“Sometimes the nicest thing to do with a hat, is just look at it”

Erin’s process of copper tooling is labour intensive and demanding. These rubbings are created as part of her process from tooled copper pieces as a way to record her creations, consider composition or as a piece of art themselves. Such as these six pieces from her “Adorn the Day” collection reminding Erin of architectural details captured in passing.
